Insurance Women

Women make up about 60 percent of the workforce in the insurance industry.[1] However a successful insurance policy is different for everyone. Meet two female IAT team members with two unique traditions, each building a successful insurance career: Angela Rimgaila and Starr Taybron.

As a college student in the midst of the 2008 Great Recession, Angela Rimgaila he was attracted to the idea of ​​a career where he could expand his professional network, gain leadership opportunities and find a solid job after graduation. The insurance program at Temple University had a 100% placement rate, so Angela chose to major in risk management and insurance and joined Gamma Iota Sigma, a professional sorority in the insurance industry. He is now the Senior Vice President of Management Liability at IAT.

“There are a lot of professional organizations and social media groups that helped me get online in the industry at a young age,” Rimgaila said. “Insurance is a very important part of the economy. It helps keep the world spinning and not going away. I know I’ll be working all the time and that really motivates me. These companies have a bad reputation, but we keep people in business, help with life’s problems, and give people jobs. “

In 2022, Angela was honored as a Rising Star by Insurance Business America – recognizing up and coming professionals who are making their mark in the industry under the age of 35.

Starring Taylor he also stayed at Michigan State in search of a job that offered leadership opportunities. After college, Taybron began his law enforcement career with the US Marshals and eventually became Chief Probation and Parole Officer at the age of 27. At the top of his career where most officers retire, Taybron accepted a position as an investigator in the Special Investigative Unit (SIU) at the IAT. He later led the team as AVP and was honored as a Break-Out Award Winner in 2019 by. Business Insurance – identifying the next generation of insurance industry leaders. Today, Taybron is the Vice President of Auto/Casualty Operations.

“For me, it’s about justice. “I actively investigated people who commit theft, arson, and insurance fraud, and I like to do good with the people who trust us to protect them,” said Taybron. “Whatever you’re interested in, you can find it in the insurance industry. When you start in insurance you see other departments, and different positions that will keep you interested in the long road to growth. Insurance is always changing, and there’s always room for innovation.”
