‘The Wolf Among Us 2’ has been pushed back to 2024

You will have to wait a little longer to see the next chapter of Bigby Wolf. Announced by Telltale Games that it is delayed The Wolf Among Us 2its 2013 sequel Stories comic adaptation, until next year. The company said it’s “committed to protecting the health of our team” in a statement on Twitter, a clear sign it’s trying to avoid the burnout that reportedly plagued Telltale’s previous iteration.

In an interview with IGN, Jamie Ottilie, the new CEO of Telltale, also said that the team needs time to transition from Unreal Engine 4 to 5. That will involve changing most of the current company’s work, and with hiring and production difficulties, it will make it difficult to hit the 2023 release date. “It’s hard to make games and they need time to get right,” he said in IGN. “And it does none of us any good to send something unprepared.”

The Wolf Among Us 2 originally announced in December of 2019, and for obvious reasons related to the pandemic, the development was slower than originally predicted by Telltale. The company still has an adaptation of The Expanse coming later this year, and in many ways that’s an even more important title for its future. As we are excited to see the continuation of The Wolf Among UsTelltale also needs to build new properties to survive.
