While we love the OnePlus 11 for high performance and fast charging, OnePlus really takes it to 11 with the OnePlus 11 Concept, which sees the phone get a makeover that includes liquid cooling and fancy LEDs designed to this is a powerhouse. I used the device at the Mobile World Congress here in Barcelona, and it has a beautiful design, even if its naming conventions are like something straight out of Back to the Future.

“Active CryoFlux” is the name given by OnePlus to the new liquid cooling system, which uses coolant pumped around a series of tubes, along with heat-sync panels, etc. more bits and bobs to allow the phone to operate longer at higher temperatures. no melting.

But why keep such trendy technology under the hood? Instead, OnePlus uses a clear glass on the back panel that allows you to literally see the coolant pumping through it like veins. As a little extra flair, there’s a new blue LED ring around the camera unit and a new chamfered circular panel designed to mimic the luxury watch faces.

Liquid cooling is often used in high-end gaming PCs to allow processors to run at higher speeds (called overclocking) and increase power output. It produces more heat as a result, so sophisticated cooling is required. OnePlus considers that its cooling technology allows the phone to increase its overall power, get a few more frames per second during gaming and increase the fast charging time by one minute.

So, not exactly “game changing” technology, but it’s a fun idea, and I like the aesthetic, if nothing else. Despite several models available to hold a photo display, the phone is still a concept and there are no plans to put it into production.
